About Piedmont EMS
Piedmont EMS is a private ambulance service based out of the Piedmont Fire Department, serving the areas of Piedmont, Tilford, and parts of Summerset, and Blackhawk. PEMS provides emergency response, high-quality care, and hospital transport of sick and injured patients.

With one full-time 24/7 staffed ambulance, and a second part-time ambulance, Piedmont EMS covers a wide variety of emergencies.
​
PEMS works with surrounding agencies, from law enforcement and search and rescue to Black Hills Life Flight and nearby fire departments.

New Equipment
Because of a state grant, Piedmont EMS was able to purchase a Lucas Device, a mechanical CPR machine. This new state-of-the-art device manually compresses the chest in a cardiac arrest situation, freeing up a set of hands, in turn allowing EMS providers to focus on other life-saving efforts.

In addition to the Lucas, Piedmont EMS continues to utilize other equipment such as the Lifepak 15 monitor/defibrillator, a BD IO device, Avel Telehealth Services, and more.
